Cambridge University Recorder Ensemble: Sat 25th Nov

This Saturday, our lunchtime recital series continues with the Cambridge University Recorder Ensemble's termly concert. They last visited us in December 2016 (amidst ongoing building work and scaffolding) and now return with an exciting new programme spanning centuries of music from 16th-century Taverner, through to compositions and arrangements from the 21st century. Doors open at 1pm. As always, everyone is welcome, with free entry and a retiring collection in support of continuing music at St Clement's and the organ restoration fund. We hope to see you there!

Saturday recital: Felicity Cliffe, oboe sonatas, Sat 18th Nov at 1pm

This Saturday sees the return of Felicity Cliffe, this time playing a virtuosic programme for solo oboe. Felicity is a recent graduate from Trinity Laban conervatoire, and is pursuing a freelance career in London playing oboe and cor anglais with a number of groups and ensembles.

Her programme this Saturday includes sonatas by Saint-Saens and Loeillet, as well as pieces by Silvestrini and Ravel. Doors open at 1pm as always, with free entry and a retiring collection to support continuing music at St Clement's. We hope to see you there!

Taizé at St Clement's: Fri 10th November

Join us this evening for a Taizé-style Eucharist as we celebrate a Vigil Mass for St Martin of Tours. Prayer, chants and silence by candlelight in the peacefulness of St Clement's Church. 7.30pm, all are welcome.

Oratorio, Lieder and Shakespeare Songs: Sat 11th Nov at 1pm

Our recitalist this Saturday hails from much closer to home - our very own Choir Director, Karol Jaworski. He will be singing a programme of solo songs by English and German composers, including extracts from Handel's "Messiah" and Haydn's "Creation", lieder by Brahms and Schumann, and finishing with settings of Shakespeare songs by Quilter and Finzi. Karol will be accompanied on the piano by Lucy Morrell, organ scholar at Girton College, Cambridge.

As ever, doors open for a 1pm start, with free entry and a retiring collection to support further development of music and restoration of the organ at St Clement's. All are welcome.

The Mila Piano Trio: Saturday 4th November

We are delighted to welcome the London-based Mila Piano Trio to this Saturday's lunchtime recital. Formed by recent graduates of the Royal Academy of Music, they have already achieved success and recognition, with appearances at well-known venues in the city centre and a recent invitation as a ChamberStudio at King's Place ensemble for the 2017/18 season.

Their recital at St Clement's will include Beethoven's Piano Trio in D major op. 70 no. 1 ("The Ghost") and the Ravel Piano Trio in A minor M. 67. As always, doors open at 1pm with free entry to all, and a retiring collection in support of the continuing development of music at St Clement's church.
